I bought this matched set of memory modules to max out the memory in my new XPS 8300 Dell computer. It was about $125 dollar less expensive to do it myself in this manner rather than have Dell do it. I was delighted to discover the high quality of this set compared to the new memory I pulled from the computer to install these. These have built in heat dissipation whereas the original memory was no frills added and rather flimsy by comparison. their smooth housing also made them more easy to handle than the original memory. Installation and booting up the computer with the new memory installed went without glitch. I put the original memory units in the nice protective packaging the new memory came with to keep it safe. Instructions were clear and easy to read. I would look for Corsair memory modules again if I need to upgrade another computer in the future.
Being a computer programmer, I have many computers & I've built many computers. Corsair is one brand I trust, especially for power supplies and memory.
Right now, this memory is working great in my i5-2500K based server. 16GB is much more than I need in it, but it's so cheap I figured why not? And I trust Corsair's reliability. Paying more for faster memory doesn't really get you much in terms of practical performance increases.
Should anything change then I will update this review.
